DONALD THE MIRACLE KITTY NEEDS A HOME |
We need your help in finding this miracle kitty a real home. We rescued Donald a few months ago and he was in horrible shape. He was a neighborhood stray cat that had been seen wandering the streets for years. A good samaritan contacted our group b/c he wandered up to her door steps asking for food and looked horrible. When he was taken to the vet, he weighed almost nothing and looked like he had been to hell and back. He was weak, covered in sores, had a severe upper respiratory infection, totally anemic, a mouth full of rotten teeth, and tested positive for toxoplasmosis, and slew of other infections. The vet determined that he is at least 8-10 years old and FIV+. Because of Donald's severe anemia, multitude of medical issues and FIV+ status, we debated euthanasia. We decided to give Donald a shot at life but knew we couldn't get too optimistic about his future. Although Donald was close to death, around every turn, after every medical intervention, Donald improved. The vets were shocked, they really didn't think he would improve like he has. They were concerned that we would be able to keep him alive but he would stay sickly and have a poor quality of life. Donald has proved everyone wrong and has done a complete 180 in the past few months. Donald is doing about 100xs better than he was just a few months ago. He has fought off every infection he had, put on a few more pounds and has so much more energy. While he is doing much better, he is still a special boy that needs special attention. He is on a hypoallergenic diet and needs regular vet check ups to make sure that he continues to progress. He is about the sweetest boy you will meet, obviously very appreciative that he was saved and acts like every meal might be his last. Donald deserves a is currently living with a wonderful foster family but needs a home of his own. Can you help us find this sweet guy a family? |
